Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY at the 12th Ecology Forum of Chemical Sector
The 12th Ecology Forum of the Chemical Sector was held in Toruń. The event was co-organized by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry and the Office of “Responsible Care” Program.
“Responsible Care” Program
The initial part of the Forum was dedicated to discussing the implementation of “Responsible Care” Program in Poland. Katarzyna Stasiak, the Manager of Support Division in Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY, presented the benefits of participation in the Program to the participants. Also, Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe “Puławy” S.A., Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A., and Anwil S.A. received special statuettes commemorating the 20th anniversary of joining the Program.
On the first day of the conference, the participants discussed corporate social responsibility and safety of manufacturing processes. At the session concerning this topic, our Works were represented by Wacław Kozioł, the commander of Company Fire Service. He told the audience about the practical approach to creating operation and rescue plans.
Environmental protection and waste management
On the second day of the conference, the natural environment became the main topic. One of the main issues discussed was the obligation to conduct occupational risk analysis. The latter part of the second day of the conference was devoted to discussing effective waste management, including sewage management and the recovery and recycling of multimaterial packaging.
About 80 participants, representing over 20 chemical companies from all over Poland, took part in the conference. The speakers included experts who deal with environmental protection and occupational safety on a daily basis.
