Development of the region discussed at the Economic Forum in Puławy

On May 10th in Puławy Science-Technology Park, an Economic Forum was organized, focusing on the topic of the 10th anniversary of Polish membership in the EU, and the changes which have taken place in our region during this decade. Another issue discussed at the meeting was the economic potential of Puławy and the whole Lubelskie voivodeship, as well as the perspectives of development of the local economy.

Experts take the floor

The speakers at the Economic Forum in Puławy included politicians, representatives of local enterprises, as well as numerous scientists. Among the participants were the Vice Minister of Treasury Rafał Baniak, a Member of European Parliament Michał Kamiński, Puławy County Foreman Witold Popiołek, the Mayor of Puławy Janusz Grobel, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Grupa Azoty “PUŁAWY” Zenon Pokojski Ph.D., and Cezary Możeński, Ph.D., who is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty “PUŁAWY” and the Manager of Fertilizer Research Institute in Puławy.

Comprehensive development of the region

The representatives of the government and other authorities stressed the fact that during the 10 years of Polish membership in the European Union, it was possible to execute a number of development-oriented projects in Puławy and the whole region. Examples include the development of transportation infrastructure, investments connected with education and support for the local economy. EU funds were also allocated to such projects as Puławy Science-Technology Park, which is meant to bring together the representatives of science, industry and new technologies.

“PUŁAWY” is the pillar of the local economy

The past decade has involved intensive development of the industry in Lubelskie voivodeship. One of the companies which were the quickest to grab this opportunity to develop their potential was Grupa Azoty “PUŁAWY”. Thanks to the financing from EU funds, Our Works were able to speed up investment projects which conformed to the EU priority of ensuring sustainable development. As a result, investments completed by “PUŁAWY” influenced the situation in the region directly, boosting the local economic potential and creating new jobs.
