Polska Chemia Congress was an important event for the sector
On July 12th and 13th, 2014, Polska Chemia 2014 Congress organized by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry was held in Puławy Science and Technology Park.
Polish chemistry compared with the EU market
On the first day of the Congress, a strategic debate Polish Chemical Industry and the Economy of the European Union was held. The discussion touched upon the 10th anniversary of Poland joining the EU. The participants of the discussion agreed that Polish chemical industry has a strong position in relation to similar sectors in other EU member states.
Development of manufacturing, creating demand
While speaking at the conference, the Minister of Treasury Włodzimierz Karpiński and the Chairman of the Board of Grupa Azoty Paweł Jarczewski stressed the fact that “Polish chemical companies ought to strive together to develop domestic manufacturing sector and create demand on the domestic market, so that a large share of the products which are now being exported could be used in Poland”.
Competitive edge, distribution and manufacturing
The agenda of the Congress included seven discussion panels. The participants, or the representatives of the Polish chemical industry, chose to discuss the issue of the competitive edge of the companies, and the distribution of chemicals and fertilizers. Another topic was the efficient use of technology and energy in the manufacturing processes.
