Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” S.A. is a leading Polish manufacturer of chemical products and nitrogen-based fertilizers, and one of the largest such companies in Europe. Our Works manufacture simple nitrogen fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, urea, UAN [urea-ammonium nitrate solution/RSM] and ammonium sulfate).

We are one of the largest producers of melamine in the world and the biggest Polish enterprise in the Great Chemical Synthesis sector.

The leading products in our portfolio also include melamine, caprolactam, ammonium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide, mono-nitrogen oxides (NOx) and technical gases.

Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” functions in the so-called “Great Chemical Synthesis” sector, which means that the manufacturing technology and processes involve using substances potentially harmful for the environment. Bearing in mind their influence on the environment and neighboring entities, all units of Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­towe “PU­ŁA­WY” S.A. pay particular attention to minimizing the impact of their activity on the natural environment. The Company follows the path of sustainable development.

Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” is one of the first companies in Poland to implement comprehensive and planned approach to environment protection. In 1985 a detailed environment protection program for 1985-2000 was drawn up and launched. The program not only made it possible for Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” to fulfill the legal requirements concerning permits, emission levels and impact on the environment, but also facilitated voluntary pro-environmental activities.

The crucial element of this approach is the Company’s participation in the International Program of the Chemical Industry “Re­spon­si­ble Care” since 1995. The participation involves publishing “Environmental Reports”, coordination of educational events concerning environmental issues (such as the national “A Tree for a Bottle” competition), participation in fairs and conferences on environmental protection.

Apart from the business activity, or the numerous investments improving Company efficiency, Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” S.A. is also active internationally, participating in discussions on climate policy. With a view to reduce emissions and conduct responsible waste management policy, the Company also targets its campaigns about environmental issues to the teens. A special comic book was published to educate the youth about such topics.

Sponsoring is an excellent tool for brand building and fostering good relations with employees and local community. This is why Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” S.A. has been looking into this area of Company activity, to make sure that sponsoring budget is allocated to events and causes which are the most attractive for the media and the most warmly received by the community.

“PUŁAWY” has associated its brand with handball (male Superleague – Azoty Puławy Club). The Company also supports other sports, cultural events, education and health care in the region. “PUŁAWY” cooperates with local partners, acting on the principle of looking after the place where is functions.

Grupa Azoty Za­kła­dy Azo­to­we “PU­ŁA­WY” S.A. may be associated with the name of Konrad Czerniak, an excellent swimmer, F.C. Wisła Puławy, the International Jazz Workshop in Puławy, a musical festival with a very long history, or Eastern Center of Burns Treatment in Łęczna, the biggest such institution in the region.
